stainless steel Quilting Weld Pins , Cup Head Pin
Each Quilting Weld Pins , Cup Head Pin is precisely formed to provide optimum electrical resistance and each cap and shank assembly is securely
swaged so that pins ill feed without jamming, even in older welders. The result is continuous production without the expense of clearing track jams or
refastening where other pins could fail.
What Quilting Weld Pins , Cup Head Pin
PowerPoint Weld pins permanently attach insulation to galvanized steel in the fabrication of ductwork. PowerPoint Weld pins withstand a tensile pull
of at least 120 pounds in sheet metal and can be used in conjunction with adhesives on any galvanized sheet metal with lock forming qualities of 26
gauge and heavier.
Composition and Materials
The fastener head, shank and point are manufactured from a special carbon alloy steel. A 1" diameter retaining cap fabricated from cold rolled steel
is mechanically affixed to the driven end of the fastener.
Industry Standards
PowerPoint Weld pins meet and exceed the latest SMACNA (Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association) standards, published
in their HVAC DUCT CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS 1995, for low and high velocity ductwork. They are used by leading air-conditioning, sheet metal
and mechanical contractors for ductwork in commercial buildings.
Technical Data
Corrosion Resistance
PowerPoint Weld pins are plated with .0002" to .0003" of zinc and receive a final chromate dip. This plating exceeds
current SMACNA standards for corrosion resistance.
Retaining Cap
The beveled edge retaining cap is sufficient in size and design to depress the surface of the insulation without tearing
or cutting it. The cap does not protrude into the air stream to create noise or interfere with air movement in the duct.
Temperature Range
PowerPoint Weld pins function properly over normally accepted operating range of temperatures of 32 degrees F to 250 degrees F and are not adversely
affected at temperatures of 0 degrees F to 550 degrees F.
